Trulia, the now ’search giant’ lands new englands largest MLS database - MLSPIN. MLSPIN which stands for Multiple Listing Service Property Information Network is a larger member of the 900+ network of regional MLS databases nationwide.

The Release — “Trulia, the very popular and growing residential real estate search engine, is officially a third party data transfer option in the H3MLS system. At this time, MLS PIN is the first and only multiple listing service in the nation to offer a transfer of listings to Trulia. The official launch of Trulia Connect offers real estate brokers and agents additional easy methods to get their listings onto Trulia and in front of serious home searchers doing research online. According to a Trulia user survey, 60 percent of Trulia’s users are not yet working with an agent and 70 percent plan to buy or sell a home in the next 12 months. Trulia Connect’s goal is to partner with a select group of vendors and MLSs who can quickly enable real estate professionals to get their listings onto Trulia and gain exposure to home searches everywhere. It is the goal of MLS PIN to enable you, our customers, to easily put your listings on Trulia and other sites and publications with minimal effort and no cost on an opt-in basis. Third party data transfers through MLS PIN are easy and free of charge!”

Earlier this year MLSPIN gave its brokers the option to auto-feed its listings to Google Base…nothing new in the world of MLS’s, however, a data feed for Trulia is a MONSTER STEP forward for the guys Stanford. Great job Trulia!

Will we see more MLS’s join the TruliaWagon?

Im just excited for teh East Coast to be the first to do something in this verticle of RE.TECH. More commonly we are 12-18 months behind our west coast peers as this very ‘traditional’ brokerage group has made very little effort to accept any kind of technology in New England.

For Trulia to tap MLSPIN..this is a big step forward for both Trulia and the realtors of New England.

For more updates on Trulia check out their blog here.

Also Instan MLS has a bite on it as well as BostonREb.

But really? How big is it for NE agents if not many consumers know about Trulia. Personally, I can’t stand map based search. Too slow. RE search sites just cannot beat Realtor.com no matter how lame their site is.

MLSPIN will feed into Zillow next.

I hear ya. The only point I was making was a traditional non-technical and anti Internet group, this was a big step. Well, most likely the Realtors don’t even know what MLS did or who Truila is…but in any case its a good thing for MLSPIN agents.

I like Trulia and I like a hybrid search like Redfin’s….I think Truila will ultimately blend over to a hybird search.

Hey Anthony - I think we might have to post about your post. I don’t think I’ve ever seen us called a “search giant”…not even in quotes!

And, thanks for noticing that this is a significant step for us. We’re excited about the MLSPIN feed and are looking forward to more…

Do it up. You guys are the ’search giant’ for real estate here in the US!

Keep us in the loop with what you West Coast’ers are up to. Remember if you dont tell us, we dont find out for 18 months!
