John Keith’s “caution” that he sent out to readers recently puts an interesting stamp on the situation. If mortgage brokers indeed passed over better rates to put more money in their pockets, that’s just plain wrong. However, it’s somewhat unfair to put all the blame on the mortgage industry relating to homeowners being stuck in ARMs that they cannot refinance out of.
