Martha Stewart may be slicing the price of her Connecticut estate in half, but she’s spending twice as much as before to live in the West Village. The Post’s Braden Keil reports Stewart has paid $16 million for a full-floor, 4,800-square-foot condo at 165 Charles St. The seller is fellow magazine publisher Louise MacBain, who already owns a lavish $20 million duplex penthouse just above. Plans for Stewart’s unfinished 14th-floor space in the 16-story Richard Meier-designed building include five bedrooms, six baths, a 53-foot-wide great room and two terraces. Before going to jail in 2004, Stewart sold an unfinished Meier-designed duplex a few doors away on Perry Street for less than $7 million.

Nicky-O looking more like Nicky-No! (South Beach)

NICKY O CONDO HOTEL SOUTH BEACH MIAMIIt would seem that Nicky Hilton has not inherited the successful hotel gene from her family after all. Her first venture, the Nicky O Condo Hotel in South Beach, below, scheduled to open last November (the hotel even advertised a $1,000-a-night Super Bowl package on its now-disabled Web site), looks stalled, along with her second hotel project, the Nicky O Chicago. Now both are the subjects of a lawsuit.

On Feb. 12, Robert Falor Investments and Grand USA Hotel Supply & Restaurant, the Chicago development group behind both projects, filed a lawsuit in federal court in Chicago, claiming that Ms. Hilton did not promote the two projects and instead used Falor “to underwrite a lavish lifestyle.”

Her agent, Paul Fisher, is also named in the lawsuit, which claims that Ms. Hilton, who was meant to be the interior designer on the Chicago hotel, hired a design company and attempted to charge Falor for the cost.   Continued…

A new national survey says that Blackberry and Treo owners may be split on whether the devices “chain you to work more than they liberate you,” but one thing is for sure…owning a Blackberry means you are more likely to work longer hours and make more money. Average household income of Blackberry owners was nearly 50 percent higher than the national average, at about $94,000. But 19 percent worked more than 50 hours a week, (while just 11 percent of the general population does) and 53 percent feel they didn’t have enough personal time (compared to 40 percent of the general population). Man - o - man is it hot over here today.  We officially launched our new Web 2.0 Interface today claiming the best condo search site EVER!  Another big piece to today’s launch includes Yahoo’s new PIPES!

“Forget the Press: Read a Blog” is how we are presenting the new CONDO PIPES!

So what are Pipes?  Well, they were released about a month back by Yahoo.  Pipes allow you to aggregate blogs, sites, classifieds, portals, …hmm….just about anything you want very easy using their graphically fun interface.  Pipes also have a full menu of tools to customize the way you want to organize and display the data.

For our pipes as you can see on anyone of our Market Pulse pages, we used 2 simple PIPE functions. 

1. Fetch - the fetch function allows you to pipe Blog RSS feed’s into an aggregator. (as many as you want)

2. Sort - this allows us to sort as we wish. (we used descending order).

So in our Condo Pipes we pull from local condo and real estate bloggers and “PIPE” it to our Market Pulse page providing a great mini preview for what is going on in that local market.  This provides local real estate data to the consumer (instead of this nationwide garbage from the press). 

Its also great for the local blogger too, because they get link value and traffic to their blog!

  1. 1.  Admit that e-mail is managing you. Let go of your need to check e-mail every ten minutes.
  2. 2.  Commit to keeping your inbox empty.
  3. 3.  Create files where you can put inbox material that needs to be acted on.
  4. 4.  Make broad headings for your filing system so that you have to spend less time looking for filed material.
  5. 5.  Deal immediately with any e-mail that can be handled in two minutes or less but create a file for mails that will take longer.
  6. Set a target date to empty your in box. Don’t spend more than an hour at a time doing it.
  7. Turn off automatic send/receive.
  8. Establish regular times to review your e-mail.
  9. Involve others in conquering your addiction.
  10. Reduce the amount of e-mail you receive.
  11. Save time by using only one subject per e-mail; delete extra comments from forwarded e-mail, and make the subject line detailed.
  12. Celebrate taking a new approach to e-mail.

Buying or renewing a New Domain Name?

1.  If your serious about your domain name or search engine optimization buy your domain for at least 5 years.  Some of the major search engines use the expiration date of the domain as part of the algorithm for your ranking.  We just renewed www.condoDomain.com for 6 years (we figured most people do 5) :0

The Boston Wharf “LIGHTS UP” party is now live via condoDomain video!  Famed neighborhood visionary and developer Tony Goldman, of Goldman Properties takes on Boston!  Tony is most known for being a huge spark for the residential neighborhood of SOHO in New York and also South Beach in Miami.  Filled with energy, Goldman aims to take on the new Boston Wharf and its 17 buildings they purchased to convert into the ultimate neighborhood including, condos, office, retail, restaurant & hotel.

Please don’t give me free marketing for my property

As you know with the launch of the all new condoDomain 2.0 we have a “free level” of service (well self service) for our condo developers. It’s free forever and there are no catches. Now, don’t get me wrong, you don’t get nearly the exposure you do of our paying clients, however its free advertising to thousands of people shopping for condos daily in your local market, online!

(PS - Could this be a Trulia Cat?)

Scenario that happened today at 11:17 a.m.
A call went out to an onsite sales and marketing manager for a specific project (we wont tell you where…yet). After a 2 minute phone conversation the sales manager noted that she was not interested in upgrading to a paying level of service and actually asked us to remove her property from the website completely.

“We don’t believe in the Internet,” said Ms. Condo Sales Manager. She also went on to note that the Internet is the same thing as email and she already had an email service and their own website…right? But thanks though”. CLICK…..(hangup)

How do you respond to that??? What are we missing here? $200,000,000 condo property and a sales manager who thinks email & the Internet is the same thing.

I don’t mean to be non-professional or degrading here…but what the?????

Nicky Hilton Sued from Nicky-O Condo Hotel Developer

Nicky Hilton Condo HotelA Chicago development group is suing heiress Nicky Hilton for breach of contract over a delayed hotel renovation project just south of the city’s downtown.In a lawsuit filed Monday in federal court, Robert Falor Investments and Grand USA Hotel Supply & Restaurant allege Hilton hasn’t kept up her end of an April 2006 agreement in which she promised to promote the redevelopment project known as Nicky O’s Chicago, a Nicky Hilton Hotel.

Hilton also allegedly contracted out interior design work she was supposed to perform and tried to charge it back to the developer, the lawsuit alleges. The development group also claims Hilton misrepresented that she and her associates had experience in hotel design.

Paul Fisher, Hilton’s agent, also is named in the lawsuit.

Elliot Mintz, a Los Angeles-based media consultant for Hilton, said neither Hilton nor Fisher had not seen the lawsuit as of late Monday night.

“Things are not always as they appear,” he said. “When the facts surrounding this matter are known to the public I think you will find out that the person who has been most impacted by this action will be Nicky Hilton. … In the meantime, I don’t think anybody should draw any conclusions based on the simple filing of a lawsuit.”

The Nicky O hotel was set to replace the Blake Hotel in Printer’s Row, located in the historic Morton Salt building. The project, along with a similar renovation along Miami’s swank South Beach, were to serve as Hilton’s foray into the family’s signature business, although neither Nicky O hotel would be affiliated with Hilton Hotels.

Both proposed hotels have been plagued by delays, and neither has opened yet.

Messages left for the plaintiff’s attorneys weren’t immediately returned Monday evening.

Hilton, 23, is the granddaughter of William Barron Hilton and the great granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, who founded Hilton Hotel Corp. in 1946. Her sister is Paris Hilton.
